FOLIC: Belgrade gets general urban plan

This year, the City of Belgrade is planning to adopt General urban plan and a number of other projects, the city architect and the main city planner, Milan Folic, says.

Maintenance of facades in the central city zone are also comprised in the projects.

GUP should halt wild construction in the capital and facades rehabilitation will contribute totally different city look, Folic says.

He outlines that the Bureau for monuments protection in cooperation with the City generated a project for 10 facades and that they got permits and invited donors. So far, they signed the contract with Postanska stedionica and they are discussing with a few potential donors more.

According to Folic, it is not popular to speak about figures but they are planning to maintain about a hundred facades in the central city zone and he believes it will have effect.

He also added they are working on the book of standard urban furniture.
