Preparations for Construction of Oil Pipeline to Hungary to Begin – Minister Discusses Preparation of Planning and Technical Documentation with Representatives of Transnafta

The minister of mining and energy of Serbia, Dubravka Djedovic, has talked with the acting director of Transnafta, Bogdan Kuzmanovic, about the preparations for the construction of the Serbia-Hungary oil pipeline.

She discussed the next steps planned toward the realization of that project with representatives of Transnafta, which would be its investor. The steps primarily pertain to the preparation of the planning and technical documentation, it was announced from the Government.

There was also talk about other projects important for the increasing of the capacities for the storage of oil and oil products.

On that occasion, Djedovic reminded that, not long after the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on the construction of an oil pipeline with Hungary, a special work group had been formed for that project, practically marking the beginning of its realization.

According to her, the aim is for another crude oil supply route to be obtained with the construction of this oil pipeline, as is already the case when it comes to natural gas, and a greater security of the supply of the local refinery and thereby the local market as well, will thereby be achieved.

The minister noted that the Starting Points of the Plan of the Development of Energy Infrastructure and the Measures of Energy Efficiency for the Period Until 2028 with Projections Until 2030, adopted by the Government of Serbia, recognized the construction of the Serbia-Hungary oil pipeline as one of the priority projects.
