Water oasis of Paspalj’s "Aqua park" in Block 44 in summer 2008

The works on construction of "Aqua park", in Novi Beograd’s Block 44, have been completely stopped for a year or so and they will not be resumed until the new investor is found. However, the contract should be signed these days with certain foreign company and "Aqua park", which will enable continuation of construction of this capital facility.

Although the first Belgrade water oasis, the kind that can found in the tourist centers by the seaside, should have been opened in June 2006, it is for sure that it will not be put into operation this year either. Aqua - center, of which construction was initiated by our celebrated basketball player Žarko Paspalj, has not been finished because the group of investors gathered around him did not have funds to resume construction.

- It is not a secret that former investors, company "Genel" and Žarko Paspalj, gave up the project due to shortage of money. Lately, we had some serious talks with two foreign companies and we signed the contract with one of them and that contract should be made official these days – says Vladimir Janković, the Manager of "Aqua park".

As investors stated on that occasion, this facility requires investment in amount of 6.5m EUR, which was obviously too ambitious project for them, so that the previously announced opening date – June 2006, breeched all deadlines long time ago.
