October 21 Berlin to host new round of tripartite talks on gas

New round of tripartite talks of Russia, Ukraine and EU will be held October 21 in Berlin, Russian ministry of energy announced.

The European Commission got the approval of Ukraine and Russia to organize tripartite talks October 21, the EC official representative confirmed.

The essence of the new package of agreement was announced by the European commissionaire for energy, Gunter Etinger. According to him,, Ukraine shall pay USD 3,1 billion for debts to Gazprom for already delivered gas by the end of the year.

Russian company will deliver to Ukraine five billion cubic meters of obligatory gas deliveries and will provide it with five billion more.

Delivery price will total USD 385 for thousand cubic meters which is a discount of USD 100 provided for only six months. After payment of USD 2 billion and pay off of old bills, Gazprom will deliver to Ukraine at least five billion cubic meters and these deliveries will be compulsory for both parties.
