Ever since Slovenia became member of European Union, there have been no buyers for its real estates settled in the coastal area, but the buyers from Italy, England and some other countries are more and more interested in properties along the Soča river and in other parts of Slovenia. It was expected that the Italians would try to form their own holiday resorts, but nobody even dreamed that the Englishmen would buy farms in Pomurje. The Italians prefer houses in the valley of the Soča river where they can go rafting, drive kayak and fish trout. It seems like slower Englishmen prefer old gardens, cows, goats, ducks and hens.
