Americans to build bio-diesel factory in Šabac ?

The representatives of the Texas company Pax have contacted the representatives of Municipality of Šabac, announcing possible investment into biodiesel production. It has been estimated that the factory would be profitable if oilseed rape was planted on at least 30,000 ha in the region.

Total of 100-120,000 tons of biodiesel is planned to be produced on this territory. It is important to mention factory Poliplast in Šabac (Zorka holding), which was built about 25 years ago according to the American technology. The factory has been closed for some time now, but 80% of the equipment can still be used.
