Belgians build the first "beer pipeline" in the world

In Belgium town, Bruges, numerous trucks transporting beer from the old brewery "De Halve Maan" in the city center present a serious problem in preserving the city with stone-paved streets
as well as medieval buildings.

Pipeline which will be three kilometers long will be built from the brewery to nearby industrial zone where beer will be bottled and then sent to beer drinkers worldwide, the head at "Xavier Vanneste" brewery said and added that the idea emerged from environmental not economic reasons.

In the first beer pipeline construction in the world, the latest technologies developed in constructing oil and gas pipelines, will be used, the brewery will cover the construction costs and the construction should start next year.
