"Astra" and "vektra" from Zastava's units - Kragujevac-based company and "General Motors" signed contract on collaboration

The representatives of "Zastava" and American company "General Motors" have signed the contract on production of one of "Opel's" models of automobiles in the units of Kragujevac's factory.

The official information on establishment of business-technical collaboration between "Zastava" and "General Motors" will be announced later. The content of the contract on collaboration is almost identical to the one that "Zastava" signed with Italian "Fiat". That means that one of "Opel's" models of automobiles of C class will be produced in "Zastava's" Automobile factory.

During the negotiations with "General Motors", which lasted, with shorter breaks, for about three years, it was announced that either "astra" or "vektra" should be produced in Kragujevac. About 3,000 "Opel's" automobiles on annual basis should come out from the Zastava factory. The production will, most probably, start at the end of this or in the first half of the next year.
