Phoning in plane – Allowed usage of mobile phones during the entire summer

The European Agency for Air Traffic Safety (EASA) announced that it allowed mobile devices and tablets during the whole summer but with limited internet usage.
- New regulation became effective as of September 27, 2014, but airlines will first have to adjust their planes in line with the new system - EASA announced.
According to the existing regulations, passengers must turn on their "flight mode", i.e. to disconnect wireless because these signals can disturb plane management systems. The European Commission previously allowed passengers to use internet and send emails when the plane fly above 3000 meters.
- New measure allows airlines that their passengers use mobile phones and tablets during the summer – the European agency said and added that Wi-Fi during the summer has not been allowed yet.
Every airline will have to previously check whether it does not endanger flights and they have eight months to adapt to new system.
