Serbian Chamber of Commerce sent an initiative to the Trade branch office in Russia to set up ship line between Serbia and Russia.

At the Day of Constanta meeting in Belgrade, a representative of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, Milos Kosanic, said the line should function on the basis of the partnership relations where Serbian ship transporters could deliver goods to Romanian Constanta port where ship transporters fromRussia would take it over.

GM at the Constanta port, Valeriu Nicolae Ionescu, said that Romanian port provides Serbia cheaper alternative transport which does not endanger environment and which saves significant time in goods turnover coming from the Far East to the countries of the central and east Europe.

He outlined the goods transport between Romania and Serbia through Constanta port has increased significantly over the past years.

Romanian Constanta Port and Luka Pancevo signed a Memorandum of understanding September 25.
