Unique window for EU visas – reception of visa applications for all 27 members at one place

Austria, together with five countries from the regional partnership, is trying to obtain visa relaxations for the citizens of Serbia. The first phase of the visa relaxations could be completed in spring.

Ministers of foreign and internal affairs of Austria, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, Czech Republic and Poland have submitted the proposal to the EU Justice Commissar, Franko Fratini, in which they suggested that the Union should make the list of preconditions that Serbia and other countries from the western Balkans must meet in order to “soften” the visa regime.

At the meeting of the heads of the EU diplomacy in Bremen, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Austria, Ursula Plasnikova, presented her proposal that the unique window of all 27 members of EU for reception of visa applications be opened in Belgrade.
