Officially: New area code for Montenegro – 382

"Telekom Crne Gore" announced that, starting from March 26, 2007, the new international code of Montenegro in fixed telephony – 382 was officially in use. Area code 381, which Serbia inherited, will also be used. That company announced that the complete change of the new area code in mobile telephony would start two weeks later.

- We informed all foreign partners on the change and parallel use of area code in fixed telephony. We recommend that area code 381 be used when dialing until the foreign operators start to apply the new one – Montenegrin “Telekom” announced.

Parallel use of both codes will last until the deadline that should be set by the telecommunications agencies of Montenegro and Serbia. Starting from today, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia have technical capabilities to forward their calls to area code 382.
