Serbia is interesting for Chinese investors – Can our companies invest at Far East

The Governor of the Central Bank of China, Zhou Xiaochuan, thinks that Serbia and China have big potential for cooperation and that Chinese investors are interested in Serbia


Xiaochuan, who is visiting Serbia said for RTS that relations between Serbia and China are very good but that trading and economic activities are not sufficient which is why Chinese party is considering in expanding them.


Chinese governor says that China wants to stimulate financial institutions such as commercial and investment banks, to provide greater support to sectors in Serbia so that options for trading and investments would increase.


He added that the fact that the only country has signed Agreement with China on strategic cooperation provides numerous opportunities.


When it comes to sustainable macroeconomic and financial stability in Serbia, Chinese governor explained that the central bank must maintain financial stability and stability of prices and that he transferred to Governor Jorgovanka Tabakovic, experience with respect to new standards in banking control, recapitalization of banking sector and the role of development banks in investment field.


Explaining the relation between the local currency exchange rate and financial stability, Xiaochuan said the exchange rate can be stable only if there are conditions for that.
