Arabians build silo - UAE-based Al Ravfafed to acquire Sivac-based Backa
Arabian Al Ravafed started at the Agricultural company, Backa from Sivac, geodetic preparations for the silo construction at the Tvrdi put unit, at the exit from the village in direction towards Sombor.
The head of Backa, Zoran Scekic, says the Abu Dhabi-based company is planning to build a silo for agricultural products storage of 20.000 tons. As he said, he expects UAE investor which will take over 2.215 ha of cultivable land in Backa, takes over the property by October 1 so that it could start a new production year with the fall works.
President of Nezavisnost Trade Union in Backa, Mladjen Svrkota, says Al Ravafed will take over only cultivable fields in Sivac although it was previously planned it takes over a silo and two combines.
Where will management go?
Mladjen Svrkota outlines that after the arrival of Arabs, AD Backa will mostly depend on division of the workers.
- We heard the UAE investor wants to take over current management at Backa. If an agronomist, Nenad Knezevic, goes to Al Ravafed, AD Backa will have difficulties and it would flourish if he stays.
However, director Scekic forecasts that in a year to year and a half, AD Backa will merge with Al Ravafed.
