The Oil Industry of Serbia (NIS) poured some EUR 250 m in development of retail network in the past three years, GM at NIS, Kyril Kravchenko said on Friday, September 5, 2014.
At the opening of new NIS gas station at the highway at Sava center, he said that this initiated investment in gas stations in Belgrade.
Kravchenko added that it did not happen before since there were a number of property issues.
He said the authorities in Belgrade did more in five months than the previous ones did in a few years which enabled NIS to implement its investment.
Kravchenko announced that in 2015 NIS will continue reconstruction of gas stations in Serbia’s capital.
The Mayor of Belgrade, Sinisa Mali, said that NIS and the City of Belgrade cooperate successfully and added he expects NIS will continue investments in new and modern gas stations because they make Belgrade become more beautiful and modern.
NIS retail network comprises more than 400 gas stations in Serbia and countries in the region (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania, and Bulgaria) and they operate under two brand names - NIS Petrol and Gazprom. Majority owner of NIS is Gazprom Neft with 56, 15% shares while the remaining portion of 29,9% belongs to the Government of Serbia and the rest to small shareholders.
