August sees public debt increase of EUR 900 m

The public debt of Serbia increased from EUR 20, 94 billion in July to EUR 21,84 billion by September 3 this year which is an increase of some EUR 900 m, the Public debt Directorate hs published today.

At the end of July, public debt totaled Na 64, 3% GDP although the Law on budget system limits debt share in GDP to 45%.

In late 2013, public debt totaled EUR 20, 14 billion which was 63,8% GDP.

According to the official information, at the end of 2000, it totaled EUR 14,17 billion which was 169,3% GDP and since then until now, the lowest public debt amount was in 2008 and totaled EUR 8,78 billion which was 29,2% GDP of Serbia.
