Agrokor acquires 80, 75% stake in Mercator

The Agrokor consortium announced on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, that after public tender for the acquisition of the remaining shares ended, Agrokor became an owner of 80, 75% stake of Slovenian trade chain Mercator.

Shareholders who owned 27, 63% shares accepted the Agrokor’s offer for the purchase of the remaining Mercator’s shares within legal deadline which expired September 1 at noon. Thus, as it was stated, Agrokor became an owner of 80, 75% stake in Mercator with the previous majority stake takeover.

After signing the proposal on majority stake takeover, President of Agrokor concern, Ivica Todoric, estimated that the activity "ended the biggest transaction in the history of the region, adding that it represents the act of success which will generate new values”.
