Novi Sad does not give up construction of Cenej-based commercial airport

(The project of Cenej-based airport) Novi Sad is interested in using the sports airport in Cenej for commercial and cargo flights, Nemanja Vukcevic the City Council member for traffic and roads, said.

- Although the project requires large amounts and solving of legal-property issues, there is an idea to use this low category airport for commercial and cargo flights and we are willing to solve these issues – Vukcevic said at the public discussion on the Draft of the law on air traffic in the Assembly of the city.

The Novi Sad aviation club has been in financial blockade for a year and a half although it should get from the province a million dinars for the facility maintenance within the Contract on the usage rights transfer, Radio 021 reports.

In 2012, the architecture project which implies that in 2015 Cenej-based commercial airport should be finished was developed. However, the project has not started yet.
