Serbian torpedo in Berlin - Velimir Stjepanovic becomes European champion

Velimir Stjepanovic won the gold medal at the European Championship in Berlin swimming 400 free style! The Serbian swimmer finished the race with in 3:45.66 minutes, leaving the second-ranked for more than a second behind.
Stjepanovic started in lane number seven and it was immediately clear he was
warmed up to achieve huge success in Berlin. After the first turnaround, the
Serb had a second and a half of advantage and it grew until 350 meters where
his competitors tried to endangered his position but they did not succeed.
When we have a look at the result of the second-ranked Italian, Andrea Mitcel
Darigo, of 3:46.91, it is clear to what extent
Stjepanovic was better at the end as well as during the entire race.
Jay Leliot from Great Britain won bronze with the result of 3:47.50 minute while
Italian Garbiel Deti lost. In the last
race section, Leliot lost silver since he left breathless.
