Russian Tander-Magnit interested in exports increase from Serbia

On Friday, August 15, 2014, President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, Zeljko Sertic, delivered to representatives of the biggest Russian trade chain, Tander-Magnit, a list of Serbian exporters with the potential to place food products to that market due to increased Russian demands for food import after implementing embargo to EU countries.

On Friday, August 15, 2014, Sertic discussed in Krasnodar with the management of the biggest Russian retail chain the options of product placement from Serbia.

As it was stated in the announcement of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, it was agreed at the meeting that the Tander-Magnit management delivers product categories list which could be placed in the shelves of the biggest Russian retailer. They also discussed the options to simplify procedures, decrease transport costs and speed up goods transport at the Danube.

-Serbian Chamber of Commerce provides full support to quality approach and placement of Serbian products to Russian Federation. All potential problems will be registered and solved so that Serbia businessmen use the chances in the best way possible which big and demanding Russian market provides – Sertic said.

According to him, within the Chamber, the Coordination center for support to exporters to Russia has started operating.

Import Manager at Tander-Magnit for fresh fruit and vegetables category, Konstantin Iljin, reminded that during 2013/14 season, the trade chain imported from Serbia 200.000 tons of fruit and vegetables totaling EUR 87 mil.

Product Import Manager of non-food section, Roman Satarov, said that in the previous period import of non-food products increased, most of which was high quality laundry and that increase in these products import is expected.

Tander–Magnit has 8.500 sales shops in all regions of the European part of Russian, 170 hypermarkets as well. The company employs 220.000 people and has more than 5.000 trucks for goods transport; it was stated in the announcement.
