Five foreign companies interested in Zelezara Smederevo

According to the announcement of Aleksandar Vucic, five foreign companies is interested in privatization of Zelezara Smederevo : Russian Krasny Oktyabr ", British-Austrian Fund Westvood, Indian Mital Steel, American Esmark steel group and United group headquartered in Luxembourg.

The special steels plant, Krasny Oktyabr is one of the biggest producers of quality rolled special kinds of steel for car, airline, chemical, oil and energy industry and machinery, it was stated in the announcement and it is a part of the big Russian company - Uralvagonzavod.

Krasny Oktyabr is one of the biggest Russian steel producers and Belgrade media wrote earlier it is the most probable buyer of Smederevo-based plant.

Krasny Oktyabr is a part of the Uralvagonzavod corporation which has previously as well been thought of as one of the most serious companies for the Serbian steel plant takeover. In April, the General Manager of the Russian company met the President of Serbia, Tomislav Nikolic, and then expressed an interest in the Serbian steel plant.
