Foreigners will not be able to buy agricultural land

The Government of Serbia accepted the amendment of several parliament members from 'Social Democrats League of Vojvodina' (LSV), to the Proposal of Privatization Law which states that the buyer of agricultural land can only be domestic corporate entity or individual.
In the discussion of amendments to the Privatization Law proposal, a LSV member, Olena Papuga, thanked the Government for accepting the amendment which specifies that agricultural land can not be bought by foreigners in Serbia.
Papuga reminded that Serbian Constitution assumes that agricultural land can not be bought by foreigners.
Parliament Members started the discussion of amendments with a total of 116 amendments to the Privatization Law proposal, out of which 9 were adopted.
