'Lames' began building a car parts factory in Sremska Mitrovica - Investment worth 8 million EUR

On Tuesday, in the work zone 'Sever' in Sremska Mitrovica, started the construction of a new factory, which will produce a window lifters in the automotive industry, with a total of 250 workers.

Factory is being built by Italian company "Lames", the value of the investment is 8 million, and is expected to achieve annual income of 40 million euros, of which 80% will be from the exports.

Construction of the factory "Lames" began on the surface of five hectares and in the first phase they are building a business area of 7,000 m2. This company is also cooperating with "Fiat Serbia", and part of the production will go to export to German and French car factory.

- Nearly two years we have been waiting for the start of construction of the factory. It is quite clear now, that it will hire in the next year, in addition to the existing 70 workers, 180 new ones- says Branislav Nedimović, Mayor of Sremska Mitrovica.

"Lames" opened a factory in Sremska Mitrovica in November 2011, in a rented hall, where it currently employs 70 workers. From the city administration in Sremska Mitrovica "Lames" got five hectares of building land to build their own factory, in order to employ 250 workers. At the same time, the factory signed a contract with SIEPA on the financial support of 7,000 EUR per employee, while the Government of AP Vojvodina gave to "Lames" a stimulation of 100,000 EUR, last year.
