The Germans arrive in September - Backa Palanka bought 'Merkur'
A sales contract of AD "Merkur" in bankruptcy from Backa Palanka to Backa Palanka Municipality was signed at the Primary Court in Backa Palanka. In this way, the entire property of "Merkur" becomes public property of Bačka Palanka municipality. Consent in the form of purchase solution was given yesterday by the members of the local parliament, and on behalf of the local government, the contract was signed by the Deputy Mayor, Bojan Radman, while on behalf of "Merkur" , it was done by the bankruptcy trustee, Radovan Ivetić.
Backa Palanka municipality paid for the local factory "Merkur" in bankruptcy, 53 million dinars, and one third of the once renowned factory for the production of leather goods will be sold to the German "Stratic", one of the leading companies in the production of so-called. travel program (suitcases, bags ...). The second part of better conditioned buildings, the Municipality will adapt and sell it or rent it, and one part of the buildings will be torn down and in their position will be built a traffic way that will finally connect the parts of the city that are now artificially separated - Backa Palanka - Nova Palanka and residential area, "Sinaj".
According to Bojan Radman, who has worked on the project from the beginning, the German company is about to start renovating the rooms, and by the end of August, at the latest at the beginning of September, they are hoping to employ the first 180 people.
