Japanese business delegation from the federation Keidanren will stay from 23 to 25 September in Serbia in order to get to know the perspective of Serbian economy and opportunities for expanding bilateral economic and technological cooperation between the two countries.
The Serbian Chamber of Commerce (SCC) will host a business forum and bilateral meetings between Serbian and Japanese businessmen, as it was announced at a meeting between Zeljko Sertić, president of the Chamber of Commerce and Osamu Hayakawa Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of Japan in Belgrade. The meeting was attended by Takashi Maruyama, third Secretary of the Embassy of Japan.
Visit from the Keidanren representatives will be a great opportunity for Japanese businessmen to meet Serbia and exchange their experiences with Serbian entrepreneurs. Dedication, knowledge and economic development of Japan are impressive and much can be learned, Sertić said in the conversation with Japanese diplomats, when he also thanked the people of Japan for their support and assistance to Serbia.
As was stated at the meeting at the Chamber of Commerce, energy, environment protection, infrastructure, are just some of the industries that are promising for the improvement of the Serbian-Japanese economic relations.
The Japanese delegation, which will visit Serbia, Italy and Poland, will be led by Yoshio Sato, co-chairman of the Committee for Europe of Keidanren. The delegation will include leaders and experts of member companies of the Committee.
This is the first, historic, visit of Keidanren to Serbia, an organization that represents the interests of major Japanese companies. Membership of Keidanren has 1,308 representatives of Japanese companies, 114 industrial associations, and 47 regional economic organizations.
The last visit of the Japanese delegation was in March 2011, just before the devastating earthquake in Fukushima, when Japanese Mechanical Federation visited Serbian Chamber of Commerce.
