First private power plant in Serbia - Italian "Dekotra" plans to invest 20m EUR in Loznica-based "Energetika"

Power plant "Energetika", a part of "Viskoza" from Loznica is the first heating plant, as well as the capacity for production of electricity, owned by private person in Serbia.
This company has been bought on the auction by Italian company "Dekotra", which plans to invest 10-20m EUR in it in the next few years, in order to modernize unit, increase capacity and produce heating energy for remote heating, but, first of all, electricity and technological steam for all interested buyers.
The power plant is connected to the system of Electric Power Company of Serbia and it can deliver the electricty to all interested buyers. With the increase in capacity from 55 to 80 MWh, it could supply 50-100,000 households over the entire year.
Ljubo Miskin, the co-owner of Italian company, which deals with consulting, engineering and trade in energy sector, says that there is certain fear because they are the first company that entered this kind of business in Serbia, but they are also optimists because the domestic market and the entire region are craving for energy, both electric and heating.
According to his words, the supply of energy will not be a problem. At the moment, "Energetika" provides remote heating for about 60% of households in Loznica, but the heating energy can be also used for heating companies, as well as hothouses.
