The KKR Group, the owner of the biggest cable-television provider in Serbia - SBB, purchased on July 14 for EUR 180 million 49% of the shares in Ringier Digital AG, which owns the website of Belgrade-based daily Blic, websites Alo and 24sata, writes the Belgrade-based daily Informer.

This daily specifies that the man behind the KKR Group is former CIA director David Petraeus, who through his firm purchased the part of the Swiss company Ringier that now also owns the Blic website.

Informer notes that this American company is close to forging a deal with Greece's Antenna Group, the biggest media company in South-East Europe that owns TV Prva and TV B92, and concludes that the Americans will soon practically take control of the media scene in Serbia.
