Nevena denies kosili cosmetics counterfiet

General Manager, Miljan Miljkovic,said that they have had the legal rights on that brand for a year which thecompany registered at the Bureau for Intellectual Property of Serbia. He also claimsthe company also has rights over the packaging design.

Miljkovic documented his claims and shared the case-related documentation themwith the journalists.

- According to the estimation of the authorities, there is no similarity orequality in the “kosilia” brand with any other registered brand, including the “kosili”brand. These are domestic and internationalregistrations under the World organization for intellectual property protectionfrom Switzerland. Everything proved that the plastic bottle design whereproducts of new "Nevena baby" collection are packed and the recipefor the products is solely the result of our development team’s work which iswhy Nevena is and must be the only one entitled to intellectual property owner –Miljan Miljkovic said.

Miljkovic outlined that so far, nobody has initiated any kind of a disputewhich would in a legitimate way prove his claims are not correct and estimatedthat nobody does it since it would fail.

- Against good business customs, Swiss Chemoflor which is accusing us for counterfeit,did not turn to us but it warned our business partners of the potential responsibilityand losses and we still do not know whether they are legitimate owners of thekosili brand – Miljkovic said and added that these kind of activities arefollowed by “pressures at all levels”.

Nevena informed on it a few responsible ministries and the Agency for Privatization,expecting that, within the legal framework, they support its efforts to run businesssuccessfully because it is now a healthy company and increases production scope.It was announced that all necessary procedures will be initiated so that Nevenawould protect its business interest which are endangered, as it was said, withskirmishes.

Trade unions at Nevena supported the efforts of their management and outlined theybelieve to “the Government of Serbia that it will prevent pressures ofindividuals form state authorities and informal groups on legislation and thatthis way it will provide the workers the right to work and live from their work”.They pointed out at the fact that ten years ago they lost the licensefor theKolynos toothpaste which is now produced in Hungary.
