Austrian sugar maker and fruit processing company Agrana is interested in investing in Serbia.
Agrana CEO Johan Marihart told APA news agency that the company was still keeping an eye on the Balkans, adding that it was interested in buying factories in Serbia.
According to him, acquisition of two sugar plants in Romania, which was agreed upon in February, may be approved by competent authorities in the weeks to come.
Due to a decreased price of sugar and bioethanol, Marihart expects the revenue to drop in the business year 2014/15.
He also expressed satisfaction with fruit processing results, pointing out that that sector was still growing outside Europe, where fruit processing operations were being optimized.
