Last night, the General Manager of Mercator-S, Stanka Pejanovic, said that some 10% of fast moving consumer goods passes through black-grey one which results in grey market being the second-ranked trader in size in Serbia.

- Officially, the second-ranked trader has six to seven percent of the FMCG market but since grey market has 10% it practically takes the second position – Pejanovic said at the conference organized by the Serbian Association of Managers.

She said that the grey market functions in a way that, for example, goods from Hungary can be ordered via Internet and that there are mini cold storages in Becej which deliver ordered goods to consumers’ homes.

Pejanovic said that this way trading in diapers, detergents, chocolate, meat products, butter and other fast moving consumer goods is carried out.
