At the conference on the impact of floods on electrical safety, Obradovic said that EPS has to raise prices and reduce costs in electricity distribution, reports Fonet.
Asked to say if EPS will impose higher price of electricity, Obradovic said he still does not know it and needs to see how much EPS will receive from the Government and foreign countries for a damage recovery.
According to Obradovic, EPS could not raise the price of electricity on its own. Agency for energetics has to approve it and estimate validity of the request.
EPS needs to reduce current loss in electricity distribution of 15-16% and to raise payment efficiency, which is about 90%.
70% of electricity is produced by coal burning and daily production of coal nowadays is about 45,000 tons.
"Electric Power Industry of Serbia" is the biggest heating plant in Serbia, says Obradovic, and points out that a large number of people use electricity for heating.
