Daily revenue reach RSD 4 mil - Belgrade’s Ada Ciganlija as small economical zone

The revenue of clubs and restaurants at the Belgrade Ada Ciganlija during the weekend reach a few million dinars, and some clubs employ up to 150 people. During the summer season, this place can be called an economical zone given the number of outlets, employees and money turnover.

The representatives of Ada Ciganlija company which managed the popular “Belgrade sea” for eKapija say that the there are 50 perfectly maintenance catering outlets , 28 food and drinks sales outlets, 20 ice-cream outlets as well as 12 for the sales of books, sunglasses, souvenirs and beach equipment.

Millions of visitors make true million profits

It is difficult to define how many people in the season get the job at Ada but it is clear that during the summer all catering outlets prolong their working hours and increase the number of activities thus employing more people. In any case, a large number of seasonal workers get the chance to earn more than a pocket money in a few months.

Investment and the work of catering workers and sellers should be paid off by some 4 million visitors who come to their favorite bathing place and the data who that in the peak of the season, 150.000 people a day visit it.

- There are outlets in Ada which work in three shifts and generate RSD 4 mil daily. On the other hand, there are smaller cafes with 7 waiters and a daily profit of some RSD 110.000 or restaurants with 20 waiters generating some half a million dinars a day – one of the catering persons from the Sava lake says.

Due to increased scope of work, the Ada Ciganlija increases their headcount over the summer.

- Duirng the summer, we hire a certain number of people so that we could manage increased visits. Our primary objective is safety of our customers at the Sava lake. With respect to that, public company, Ada Ciganlija, every year hires some 100 rescuers who must satisfy the criteria we set and with respect to successful rescuing training, first aid, swimming norms tests and physical readiness as well as demonstration of specific rescuing techniques. Due to rescuing job candidate recruitment this way, we, from the PC Ada Cignalija, are sure that we hire one of the best rescuing services in Europe which is at any moment ready to respond to all safety aspects at the Sava lake. Apart from rescuers, during the summer, we hire cleaning staff who take care about Ada Ciganlija, as well as security.

Concerning the large number of visitors who visit the bathing site at the Sava lake during the summer season, Ada Ciganlija is an ideal location for the most diverse promotional activities. During the summer, an average of 25 promotions is held in a month.

Souvenirs and jewelry: 50.000 (one out of four locations)

Graphics and tattoo: 30.000 (one out of six locations)

Books: 30.000 (one out of six locations).
