Romanian company "Cuprom" offered 400m USD for the property of Mining-Smeltery Basin (RTB) "Bor", but it most likely that the Copper Combine will get only 320m USD!

The representatives of "Cuprom" asked to carry out the rehabilitation of the ecological catastrophe in Bor instead of the World Bank that offered favorable loans to Serbia for that purpose. Unofficially, the State has accepted their request and let the Romanians use 40m USD of the offered price for the property of RTB for remediation of the land and to take another 40m USD as a compensation for the fact that they will not be able to use old Bor-based Smeltery for two years more, until the new one is finished.

The owner of company "East point", Zoran Drakulić, stated that some members of the Serbian Government had signed agreement that his rival in the procurement of Mining-Smeltery Basin "Bor", Romanian "Cuprom", can buy RTB at the price that was lower than the one offered on the tender.

- If our rival is enabled to buy RTB for the price that is 20m USD lower than the one we offered, we will take all necessary legal steps to protect our interests, including the charges against the State and all responsible ministers in the Government of Serbia - said Drakulić.
