Toyota's hydrogen car to start from EUR 50,000

Japanese car maker Toyota has announced that its hydrogen-powered car that is going to hit the showrooms in 2015 will cost about CHY 7 million (EUR 50,000).

Toyota announced late last year that in the process of switching to "green" production that was more environment-friendly and consumed fewer resources, they would start a serial production of hydrogen cars by 2015.

One of Toyota executives, Satoshi Ogiso, stated that it would not be an automobile on lease for state officials and celebrities, but a car for common people.

All leading car makers, including General Motors and Daimler, have been working on hydrogen cars for decades. Experts assess that the governments of countries that have such vehicles on their streets will have to invest a lot in car hydrogen pumps.
