Knauf insulation exports 60% of production from Surdulica


The plant for production of stone mineral wool, Knauf insulation in Surdulica, reached an annual production of 44.000 tons of that insulation material, 60% of which exported in the countries in the region but also in Chine, Turkey, Azerbaiijan, the Marketing Manager of the company, Marija Ilic, said for Tanjug.
Apart to the markets in the region, Bulgarian, Romanian, Greek, Macedonian, Albanian, Croatian and Montenegrin, Surdulica exports stone wool to Israel and Saudi Arabia.
Ilic said that Knauf insulation in Serbia employs 130 people and
Surdulica-based plant, is one of the most successful ones in the south of
Serbia.
In May this year, Surdulica-based plant should celebrate 40 years of work but
due to floods and solidarity towards the endangered ones, the jubilee
celebration was canceled, Ilic said and reminded that the multinational
company, Knauf Insulation, headquartered in Germany, bought former domestic
plant Vunizol in 2005 which has existed since 1974.
Since then, as she said, a total of EUR 25 mil has been invested in the plant.
