Lafarge and CRBC negotiate to continue cooperation in Serbia and region

The construction of the Zemun-Borca bridge, across the Danube, entered the final stage and the completion of the works is expected in December 2014. Lafarge is an exclusive supplier of concrete both for the bridge and the access roads and Chinese CRBC (China Road and Bridge Corporation) is in charge of the bridge construction.

Good cooperation and experience on this project resulted in potential continuous cooperation on new projects, both in Serbia and in the region, Lafarge stated in the announcement.

- We installed 120.000 cubic meters of the most quality concrete in the bridge which will connect Belgrade settlements Zemun and Borca.We did not risk anything. We carry out rigorous quality controls of material every day and this kind of mutual approach resulted in potential continuous cooperation with CRBC which is an extremely important partner for us. At the moment, the biggest and the most demanding project we are discussing is the construction of the Bar-Boljare highway in Montenegro - Dimitrije Knjeginjic, General Manager at Lafarge Serbia outlined.

The construction of the Bar-Boljare highway, 169,2 km long, is the biggest construction and engineering project in Montenegro.

At the same time, it is one of the biggest projects of this type implemented at the European market. The data that the project comprises installation of 1.047.000 cubic meters of concrete and 450.000 tons of cement proves the importance of the project.
