NIS invests EUR 10 million in raw gas processing – 7 new cogeneration modules by end of 2014

Together with representatives of local self-government, Belov visited an oil field "Velebit" in Kanjiza where the third cogeneration module has been installed. NIS invested EUR 2.5 million in that plant. At the moment, "Petroleum Industry of Serbia" processes raw gas in two more carbonate reservoirs in "Kikinda gorenje".
- The new plant installed in "Velebit" field will process raw gas, which was previously useless, and therefore burnt, while now it will be processed for the purpose of electricity and thermal energy production.
"Power Industry of Serbia" (EPS) will purchase the electricity at favored price, said Belov.
However, as raw gas processing reduces emission of harmful gases, it is ecologically efficient, as well, said the president of Kanjiza Municipality, Mihalj Njilas.
According to him, this is the first power plant for electricity production in the Municipality of Kanjiza.
On Friday (13 June 2013) NIS donated "solar led tree" to high school center "Besedes Jozef" in Kanjiza. Those are solar panels mounted in a shape of a tree, writes at official site of NIS.
