''Zelezara'' first on the tender – the end of 2014 final term to start privatization of 157 companies in restructuring

New Law on Privatization suggests deadlines for the finish of privatization in Serbia, which will be further discussed in the Parliament by mid July.

Sales will commence right after that, and the first to be sold is `` Zelezara Smederevo``, then, ``Azotara`` from Pancevo, ``Galenika``, ``RTB Bor``.

Minister of Economy Dusan Vujovic said that the Government has additional time to ``filter`` 157 companies in restructuring and promised that a precise plan will be made for all of them.

-We tend to divide companies into at least three groups, to adopt systematic laws for solving their status by the end of July, and to involve all the companies into the process by the end of the year.

New Law on Privatizations suggests other numerous solutions as well.

The Government has chosen a group of companies which are believed to be able to get a strategic partener as a whole.

Special working groups will be formed for the group of 10 chosen companies. That was said for ``Zelezara`` in May, and for ``Azotara`` this week.Working group will be obliged to communicate with all potential investors. There are 7 or 8 companies which are interested for some kind of strategic cooperation with ``Zelezara``. When it is sure whether the companies are interested only for a part of or the whole ``Zelezara`` and whether they want to operate alone or with the Government, public tender will be called. Initial citeria for the tender companies is to be worth more than EUR 100 million – writes Blic.
