The leaders of the Scandinavian fund East Capital, one of the largest institutional investors in the region and on the Belgrade Stock Exchange, came to Belgrade to organize a business forum with Serbian businessmen and visited B92 in which they hold a stake.

In an interview with B92, they explained how they approached investing. They first analyze the economic growth and state structure and then start looking for interesting companies, said one of the Capital East representatives, Jacob Grapengiesser. He added that the fund had found several such companies in Serbia, voicing his belief that Serbia was the cheapest investment area in the region.

They pointed out that the privatization was a good thing in general, adding that companies should go public to allow the people of Serbia to invest in them and make profits in the long run. Talking about investments, Grapengiesser said that Capital East held a substantial stake in the Ljubljana airport and that it would consider acquiring a stake in Nikola Tesla Airport in Belgrade as well.
