Canadian IT company Descartes seeks partner in Serbia

Martin Pechart, a representative of Descartes, told a press conference that the company was looking for a partner to help them develop their business in Serbia.

As he noted, Descartes has so far been working on pilot projects with several companies that are extremely satisfied with their solutions.

Pechart said that the company's product portfolio included a wide range of different tools, adding that their solutions, that is, IT platforms, were primarily intended for logistics companies.

- Our solutions can help companies upgrade their business, boost profits, reduce expenses, and become more efficient at the same time. The focus of the company is mainly on business optimization - Pechart added.

Kevin Rex, the charge d'affaires at the Embassy of Canada in Serbia, said that the IT sector was very important for Canada as it accounted for 5 percent of Canada's GDP.

This sector employs over half a million people who mainly work for small companies with about 10 employees, he added.
