Serbian Minister of Youth and Sports Vanja Udovicic said that the sports infrastructure development company AECOM from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) had expressed interest in working with Serbia.
This company also worked on facilities for Olympic Games in London and Rio, and Udovicic and AECOM General Manager Riad Nashif signed Monday (2 July 2014) a protocol on cooperation in the field of public-private partnership of mutual interest.
- In line with capacities and the financial situation, construction of sports infrastructure is one of the priorities of the Sports Ministry. Our intention is to identify the models of cooperation with all prospective partners in order to cut budget expenditures to a minimum and maximize the effects in the construction of sports facilities. That's why we're talking with all those who have expressed interest in Serbia, especially with companies that are leaders in the field of sports infrastructure - said Minister Udovicic.
The general manager of AECOM stated that the protocol was based on close cooperation between Serbia and United Arab Emirates, adding that it can serve as the basis for future cooperation on sports infrastructure design and planning projects.
