How will bus and rail station Novi Beograde look like? - Winners of urban and architectural design competition declared

An expert jury of the urban and architectural design competition for the bus and rail station Novi Beograd, which was presided by Belgrade Mayor Sinisa Mali, made a unanimous decision on Friday (30 May 2014) on the winners of this competition. The first award went to Proaspekt (authors: Vladimir Lojanica and Milan Lojanica with associates), while the second award was presented to Kolubara invest gradnja (author: Dragan Vukovic). Since the jury failed to agree on the winner of the third award, they made a decision to distribute the prize fund between a total of six designs, Beoinfo reported.
This competition attracted 54 encrypted entries. It was financed by the Belgrade Building Land and Development Directorate and carried out by the Town Planning Institute of Belgrade in cooperation with the Association of Architects of Belgrade.

The aim was to get a top-quality urban and architectural design for the new traffic terminal in the central zone of New Belgrade and to prepare a comprehensive land-use plan to create conditions for relocating the existing bus station and building a new one, and then organizing and building a rail station in new Belgrade, as well as a business and commercial complex in the same block.
