Serbian broom sweeps Europe - manufacturers from Bački Petrovac and Selenča export 3m brooms to EU market on annual basis

Broom Sirkovača from Vojvodina, thanks to its exceptional quality, has very high rating on European market.

The data that nearly 3m brooms were produced last year in Bački Petrovac and Selenča and that 90% of production was exported to Europe - speaks enough about the market demand for this broom.

The broom with sign "Made in Serbia" is mainly sold in Italy, Switzerland, France, Germany and Spain and lately in Russia. One truck loaded with 15,000 brooms even got to Canada last year.

The orders for much larger quantities are now arriving from the other side of the Atlantic, but our broom manufacturers, in spite of their willingness, are not able to answer to the demands of the buyers.

– We do not have enough raw materials for these brooms, because, due to bad weather, the purchasing price of this material increased to 20 RSD/kg – says Svetozar Jelić, the Manager of "Kristal" Ltd., which is said to be the largest manufacturer of brooms in Serbia.
