Economy Minister Dusan Vujovic and Irena Vojackova, a UN representative in Serbia, waited at Nikola Tesla Airport in Belgrade on Monday (19 May 2014) for the second batch of humanitarian aid from the United Nations to arrive.

- The first batch of UN humanitarian aid in rescue equipment arrived on Sunday night - said Vujovic.

The minister pointed out that the recovery from floods would take much time, but he underlined that a quick reaction from international specialized organizations dealing with the issues of direct aid to people and the repair of damages caused by natural disasters was of the greatest importance at the moment.

Minister Vujovic expressed gratitude to the people of Serbia for showing solidarity with their endangered fellow citizens, as well as to international organizations for finding a way to quickly react to the Serbian government's appeal for help last Friday.
