Andy Warhol's "selfie" sold for USD 30 million

"Six Self Portraits," a work by the celebrated American pop artist Andy Warhol, has fetched a price of USD 30 million at an auction in New York organized by Sotheby's.

A series of six images of Warhol done in 1986, a year before the artist's death, had been valued at between 25 and 35 million US dollars before the auction, and in the end went for USD 30.1 million.

Warhol's works are currently in a very high demand among collectioners. Last week, the Warhol work "Race Riot" was auctioned by Christie's for USD 62.89 million, while his "White Marilyn" went for USD 41.1 million.
