English transport companies use Serbian software - TruckTrack to conquer EU and USA after Great Britain

Truck transport is one of the things without which everyday life would become impossible after only few days. This is a reason why revenues in this field are usually huge.

- In spite of this, truck transportation companies are offered software systems that are either outdated, uninnovative, difficult to use, or too expensive. Usually, they're a combination of all this - TruckTrack software developers claim.

These people are working hard to change the situation and to design solutions that can create a better future for the truck transportation industry.

A bright future they pursue is also believed in by the Passion Capital funds from London which has already invested EUR 260,000 in this Serbian start-up.

People behind this project are Vukasin Stojkov and Vuk Nikolic, young men from Serbia, who caught the attention of investors and opened offices in Belgrade and London a year ago and now already have clients from Great Britain using their system.

As eKapija was told, the aim of this young team is to become the main players in the British market, but that's not where their ambition ends. They also plan to conquer the EU and the USA.

TruckTrack is a software solution that makes it easier for small and medium-sized enterprises engaged in truck transport to operate. Since it is for certain that the prices of transportation services are not going to grow, it is necessary to look for ways to reduce operating costs in order to generate a bigger profit and take a bigger share of the market.

Vuk Nikolic, one of the TruckTrack creators, says to eKapija that the idea is to offer one system as a substitute for all the paperwork that companies now need to do, as well as to provide the companies with a comprehensive insight into their operations and advanced analytics.

- For example, it provides information on all the clients of the company, their average payments, possible overdues, fuel consumption per truck, payments made to drivers, etc. – Nikolic explains.

As he says, he's been hearing about the needs for a software like TruckTrack for about ten years now, ever since his mother started a truck transportation business.

A year ago, he and Vukasin decided to turn this idea into reality.

The transportation business is very complex, says Nikolic, and it depends on a large number of factors that introduce risk to operations.

- TruckTrack is there to identify and prevent such risks. Also, our product is one of the few completely cloud-based solutions, meaning that our clients can access the application from all devices, without any additional costs for servers, licensed computers, etc.

Beta version in Serbia and Great Britain

The Beta version of this system is already in use in Great Britain.

- We first entered the market of Great Britain because the truck transportation business there is much simpler than in Serbia and Europe in general. Most of the companies there operate only in the UK, so they are not crossing borders and have no need for foreign currncies, per diems and additional paperwork – our interlocutor explains.

TruckTrack is currently available in two languages - English and Serbian.

Funds invest in promising projects

- The transportation business is huge and necessary - our interlocutor stresses explaining why investors picked their solution to invest in.

Almost everything we see around us has been transported by trucks and the whole civilization depends on that industry. This is a reason why revenues from this business are huge.

- For example, annual revenues from the truck transportation business in the USA are at USD 600 billion. There are 50,000 truck transport companies in England and nearly half a million in the USA. About 90 of them are small enterprises, our target group - Nikolic explains.

- We have a young and ambitious team that has experience in software development, but not all of us are programmers. Investors appreciate this very much. Of course, the investment means a lot as it allows us to continue to pursue our mission to change the way transportation companies operate. That money will be spent on the expansion of our team and presence in England.

One of the investors in TruckTrack is London-based Seedcamp, the oldest and, to many, the best European accelerator.
