Finnish company Ruukki presented, for the first time in Serbia, Raex wearproof steels and Optim high-strength steels at the 58th International Fair of Technology and Technical Achievements in Belgrade.

Ruukki produces special steels in several cities of Finland and exports its products to 30 countries world wide.

As people at the Finnish company told us, their products have so far been available in Serbia through several partners, and Ruukki is expected to increase its presence in our country in the future.

- The market of Serbia is very interesting to us. Our production is based in Finland, and we market our products in Serbia as well, at buyers' request. For this region, our headquarters is in Hungary, whence all products are distributed further. Our company has a program for authorized distributors, so we now want to work with interested companies in Serbia and neighboring countries - Roman Kaiser, the vice president of Ruukki Metals for Germany and central and eastern Europe, told eKapija.

Kaiser noted that they were currently negotiating with several potential buyers which produce agricultural, construction and mining machines.

- We are aware that we have a competition in this market, but our advantage lies in our cooperation with clients in the design, planning and making of products - Roman Kaiser stressed.

Although they're mainly selling products in Europe, Ruukki officials say they are now expanding sales to America and Asia.

- Last year we generated a sales revenue of EUR 2.4 billion. We have three divisions - Ruukki Metals is the biggest, followed by construction products and construction systems. Our vision is to be an innovative and acknowledged provider of solutions related to energy-efficient steels for the construction of better living environment, together with our users - Roman Kaiser said at the presentation of his company on May 15.

He pointed out that steel was the most recycled material and that it can be recycled an unlimited number of times without losing any of its quality.

- The idea is to persuade our buyers to use less steel, although that does not go in our favor. Howeer, special steel requires less material. Vehicles made of such steel have a larger load capacity and longer life, they consume less fuel and release smaller amounts of CO2.

The vice president of the Ruukki Metals company for Germany and central and eastern Europe underlined that the use of Optim steel can decrease the thickness of the material and the weight of beams other parts of the crane by 20%. Thanks to this, the product performance is greater.

- For example, our Raex steel prevents damage to construction parts and cuts the costs of repair of road construction and mining machines. The life of a crane bucket made of Raex steel can be 2.5 times longer than those of scoops built from a construction steel.

The Finnish company also presented special steels for agriculture that extend the life of equipment and reduce the frequency and cost of the replacement of damaged parts.

- Food production will be gaining in importance in the future, and so will the use of efficient machines. Optim steel for agricultural machines reduces the weight of construction parts by 40 without affecting their strength - Kaiser explains.

Special steels made by Ruukki can be used to build the following agricultural machines: tractors, combines, balers and hay equipment, fodder equipment, plows, harrows, planters, self-loading cranes, etc.

F.X. Meiller, Sirch, Unia Group, Pomot, Maakasi Oy, Helti, Sembradoras Gil are only few of the European companies that have used Ruukki steels.
