Report on potential partners of Zelezara until May 25

The Minister of Economy, Dusan Vujovic, will head the team for discussions with potential strategic partners for Zelezara which the Government set up May 8.

The working group members are the head of the cabinet of the president of the Government, Ivica Kojic, Financial Manager of Zelezara, Bojan Bojkovic, the Assistant Minister of Finance, Nenad Mijailovic, head of the cabinet of the Minister of Finance, Boris Dragovic.

In early 2012, the government took over Smederevo-based Zelezara, at the price of USD 1 from the American U.S. Steel which left Serbia.

The plan of the Government is to find a strategic partner for Zelezara with 5000 people which would enable its development and survival.

As potential strategic partners, Russian Uralvagonzavog and one unnamed American company whose representatives, according to the information from the management, visited Zelezara in early April, were mentioned as potential strategic partners.
