Mercator-S posts mild revenue growth for 2013

Mercator-S announced Monday (28 April 2014) that its 2013 revenue totaled EUR 562.3 million, up 3.1 percent from the previous year. There was also a significant growth of profitability as a result of cost optimization and additional improvement of all key business parameters, meaning that gross cash flow from operations grew 1.8 percent from 2012, to EUR 26.9 million, while the net profit rate was at 0.9 percent.

In line with the company's development strategy, 10 new business units with a total surface area of 9,909 square meters were opened in 2013, thus creating jobs for another 209 workers. The value of invesstment in 2013 was at EUR 8.19 million.

Mercator-S has a total of 4,754 employees. It is the second largest retailer and among the top ten biggest employers in Serbia.
