At this-year 45th international automobile show, which will be held in Belgrade at the end of March, "Zastava" will, in addition to domestic "Punto" and other models, exhibit "Florida" with diesel engine, produced in French company "Peugeot-Citroen motors" (PCM), which satisfies "euro 4" norms.
These engines are already built in the automobiles of makes "Peugeot", "Citroen", "Ford" and "Toyota". The Deputy General Manager of "Zastava vozila" GRoup for Development, Miljko Kokić, said that "Zastava" had bought diesel engines of 1.4 liters, which satisfied "euro 4" norms, from company PCM in 2006 and that the previous tests had shown that "Florida" with diesel "euro 4" engine worked excellently.
- For the export to the EU market, it is necessary that certain security requirements be met, that is, it would have pass so-called CRASH test, which relates to the testing of resistance of automobile to head-on and side collisions. Therefore, only with additional reinforcements, which requires certain investments, "Florida" will appear on the markets in the EU countries - Kokić points out.
He reminded that diesel engines were built in more than 50% of newly produced automobiles in Europe. These engines ensure smaller consumption of fuel and more efficient environment protection.
